Windsor Castle and Rye Visits

Lori and Rich visited both Windsor castle and the town of Rye in late June. Windsor castle is the summer home of the queen and is the largest operating castle in the world. It has almost 500 staff. A guided tour was part of admission and the queen was there the day we visited. They fly the royal colors on the flagpole instead of the union jack. The castle had lots to see; very elegant rooms, lots of gold trim. We were able to walk through several of the rooms including the dining room that has a single table that seats 160 people. Carol, you would really like this!!

Rye is an old town in southeast England. It has some building that date back to 1242. The mermaid hotel is the most famous. The town has lots of shops and antique stores.

They must have had short people in the old days!!
