We took a weekend trip to go see the Normandy Beaches and to visit the Normandy American Cemetery in France. Our transportation included walking, a tube ride, a train ride, a bus ride, a boat ride, and a car ride. (Need I remind you, the last post was about Gladys turning 84) It took us a little bit longer to reach the correct part of France and the trip didn't unfold exactly as we planned it.
DAY 1

DAY 2
We found out too late that the first two weeks of August are the busiest weeks of the year. Our hotel reservations were denied and it turned out that the closest hotel was in Paris, about 3 hours away.
We found our own small Hotel Citroen "C4" (It was lacking on both the bed and the breakfast) It helped to create a late night and an early morning, 6 AM to be exact

There are 9500+ graves of named servicemen and another 1500+ were not found
To sum it up, it was quite a trip to France!

What a trip! I have been to Normandy and Omaha Beach and the cemetary on my way back from Russia. Quite impressive, isn't it? I'm so glad you all went there. Are you going to Stonehedge? I always wanted to go there.
